This is not a good look for Philbin, and the rest of the coaching staff. shyt like this absolutely should not happen in the locker room of a professional football team.

I'm often wary of the whole "bullying" thing, as I myself could give 2 shyts about what the next man says to me. However, we have no idea what was going on, and no idea how long it's been going on. Clearly it's much more than him sitting down, and everyone getting up and changing tables. Regardless, these are grown ass men, and the fact that this situation got so bad that Jonathan Martin actually walked away from the team is embarrassing. Grown ass men, acting like 2nd graders. Embarrassing.

Breh, I recognize that bullying is real. But this is a grown ass 6ft5 300 pound man. That couldn't handle other adults pickin on him.

How iws he supposed to handle the rigors and stresses of a football game and the pressures that assosiate themselves with his profession and that go along with being an adult

Right. But again, we have no idea what exactly happened. The term "bullied" could be used for lack of a better word. Of course we're all thinking name calling, and teasing, and stupid shyt like that. shyt could be a lot deeper than that, and we just don't know.

Ultimately people have to realize that mentally disabilities are a part of life for many. We should support them in ways we can. If this guy has a disability then people should practice understanding. Bill Gates has a mentally disability as many others who aimed high and succeeded.

Fine. Then dude doesn't have what it takes to mentally play in the NFL . Should dude pack up and go to the locker room when fans boo him or start insulting him from the seats?

Should dude just pack up and go home whenever a defensive lineman is talkin shyt to him during games?

The media scrutiny that athletes face day in and day out, the constant pressures of fear from losin your job are all present. As a pro athlete or any athlete, you can't be this gatdamn sensitive and thin skinned. If so, dude doesn't need to play anymore. Maybe its a good idea if he hangs it up :manny:

While some aspects of bullying is about being physical, a lot of it is also mental. Sounds like they just pushed this dude to the edge. As an adult, one should be aware of how far you can push a person if you're constantly picking on him. Use some common sense. Unless this dude has mental issues and he just snapped, the dudes making fun of him and other veterans/coaches on the team should have stepped up and took the role of the adult before it escalated into this situation.

Then again, if your GM is in the habit of asking college students if their mom is a whore, then I shouldn't expect any better from the team he put together:manny:
