Seems like Doms saying during his rise nikkas in the industry were hating on him, possibly trying to kill him and now that hes getting up there, the people that were trying to kill him are trying to be his friend because dom is looking like a prospect. Hes at a cross roads where he has to decide to join his enemies or stay local.

looks like we saying the same thing...with how the LA scene has been the last 5-7 years, very much wide open..and how 15-20 rappers were all gunning for the top spot in LA, and how most of them had their own movements...but little to no support from the radio/major labels..and now it's to the point where labels is damn near begging to sign all these cats cause of the presence they have online and in the region....cats with no major deals got the top songs on the radio
what do you do.... Do you stay with what's gotten you to this point, or do you put your trust in the same people who wasn't trying to hear your shyt not that long ago?
Be a real nikka, get a heavy quality catalogue and tour the planet like the roots. If you let someone else do all the work you're only job is to be the next Kendrick Lamar.

Every indie artist says this shyt... until the right deal gets put on the deal.
How often have we seen artists who are the top of the underground/indie game and say they don't need the majors... only to be forgotten about a year or two later.
I'm not saying every artist needs to sign to a major and sell out... but let's not act like you're balling like a top level major artist while still indie. Only a few can claim that and they've been in the game far longer than Dom.

he didn't say that tho...all he said was that major labels haven't paid any of his bills or fed him.
but it is a defining line in his career tho, whether to cross over to mainstream or stick to the independent grind

Dom seems like a smart dude, regardless of how faded he seems in this vid. Whatever he decides to do, I don't care as long as he keeps dropping quality music.
