f*** apologies, i wanna see y’all geeked up
Get Home Safely was Dom Kennedy's last good album. The Half-A-Mil shyt with Hit-Boy was the definition of mid. When the first few songs dropped, people hyped it up because Dom was actually rapping somewhat on beat again. Even me, I was like "OK he still sounds like shyt but he's actually trying now". Looking back, those songs had zero replay value. I respect Hit-Boy for trying to coach Dom back to greatness and doing him a favor.
The weirdest shyt I see is Dom Kennedy fans acting like he hasn't been consistently dropping wack shyt for almost a decade just to downplay Larry June's success. They will argue all day about how good of an artist Dom is but when he drops new music it's fukking crickets. Nobody supports. Stop bringing up The Yellow Album and FTWSWL. I love those tapes too, but no. That Dom is gone. The new shyt with Tee-Fli was absolute trash. They've been talking about that since "Still Callin" came out and dropped a dud.
He arguably made all of his money off music too because that opened the doors for him to explore other business ventures. OPM merch is selling solely because of the music. "I haven't made no money off music so that's the reason why I can't rap on beat, keep dropping wack shyt and continue to do the absolute bare minimum." It's a bullshyt excuse for his poor output.
Rap n Roll was hard
Vol. 2 was hard
You gonna tell me this is trash right here?
