For y’all that listened to Dom from the beginning, what’s the difference flow wise compared to now, if there is a difference ?

He was never a good rapper, I'd even go as far as to say that he's always seemed slightly remedial to me (somebody had to say it :hubie: ). But there was a genuine joy, lightheartedness and excitement in his raps that seems like it's gone now. It's like he doesn't love it anymore. It could be a medical issue tho like someone mentioned earlier.

I listened to an old interview years ago and explained that he never planned on staying an rapper and just wanted his label OPM pop. I don't think he enjoys rapping as an artist but the guys he pushed are not good.
those OPM tapes were decent, but outside of Jay 305... all them other dudes weren't worth listening too.

OPM as a lifestyle brand would've been dope, but this makes more sense.
I've enjoyed Warm Brew and a few Niko tapes, never got into Jay 305.

I think Dom underestimated how far he could take his own career and how far that would take everyone around him if he kept going. Since he didn't, their careers stopped right with him.

Larry has to watch himself because I think he's now where Dom could have been 5 something years ago had he not slowed his momentum, and he's trying to take nikkas up with him too and they are also ass. He could end up with a similar fate if he doesn't play it right.

Damn shame what happened to Dom.
Yeah one of the biggest fall offs ever! He clearly lost his love for music and it shows… I’m going to say this for the last time, he had lighting in the bottle when 1997 and the yellow album came out.. can’t believe he jump off his own wave like that. Thank you Larry for filling in that void.

DOM is finished. This is officially the last time I’m giving his new music a chance. He’s Wiz Khalifa status at this point. Bro sounds like he does ballet in the sun for 3 hours before he records his verses smh.

Been that way

Dude was never spitter, just said something fly on track from time to time. I say that as someone who was jamming his music heavy in my late teens

Same here. He was good for some slick lines w/ a good flow to match it w/ elite beat selection. Ever since Best After Bobby 2 he sounds like a stroke victim.
