I don't know what it is about black Americans but this attachment to have Dominicans to claim black is a touchy topic. Actual Black Dominicans acknowledge their African roots but they do not accept the American concept of black. Especislly if they were born in DR
This thread and the responses to that guy's article confuses me. He's a Dominican. One minute it's they're c00ns, next minute they're not actually Black, etc.. This guy says he recognizes white supremacy but doesn't want to play the label games but also you can do what you want. Yet, people like Ida are still in their feelings because they can't claim him? But again, he's Dominican. What did you expect from him?

This fool needs to get outta his feelings. I read that Angel grew up in NYC. Clearly he never got over his childhood. in NY, if you didn't adhere to the rigidness of what your friends fukked with, you were called white. Anything outside of your little box was not to be fukked with. Many grow out of that and realize what the fukk you were on, and some never leave their comfort zone. The first paragraph alone tells me he got bullied a lot in school.
Angel got clowned, not just for acting "white," but also cuz he's weak and can't get over the opinions of classmates who he might be doing way better than right now.
