It is life. It's pretty much what soccer is to other Latin American nations.

When people come to the states, they bring it with them and you grow up around it (at least in my case) so it's a passion that never dies out. Going to the park? Make sure it's a park with a baseball field.
Beach? Make sure there's a park within walking distance that has a field.
Having a BBQ in an open field? Better have a bat, a ball and a glove somewhere.
My dad always keeps baseball equipment in the trunk of his SUV, just in case

We watch baseball all year round (Dominican Winter League) even though the image quality is cause we get the Dominican channels. All, and I mean ALL of my male cousins were in Little League/youth teams. Pretty much if you're a boy in my family, you're gonna play baseball as soon as you can hold a bat and walk I remember every Saturday and sometimes Sunday going to "the play" (local baseball field) with my father to watch the older guys from the neighborhood play. Music, liquor, food. Baseball is an event in our culture
