History has been telling us the result of this for millennia

Lots and lots of violence

These guys in particular Old Dominican Order are out front and center. Before ppl would be cautious for fear of being called racist but that has changed. It’s an open embrace where before they were side characters at best

I really don’t know what’s going to happen, the future is very bleak at this point.

I was honestly waiting for this to happen, I am always in DR and told wifey that the Dominicans are going to start protesting because the massive influx of Haitian residents. The Haitians are taking over and the manual labor jobs are pretty much dominated by Haitians. All new construction buildings are pretty much Haitians, I dont mind it personally because there I have a confort zone with fellow black people but DR has been trying to stop the influx of illegal immigrants and it seems they are losing the fight at this point.

This isn’t purely about economics. I want to make that clear. This is about representation. Right now you have two generations of Haitians living in the Dominican Republic, can’t speak kreyol, never visited Haiti, have Haitian parents, but will identify solely as Dominican if asked.

I kind of saw this coming especially with the recent Olympic team. Ppl here were outraged

yea keep in mind like you said there has been generations..black domincans have represented the country in baseball and boxing which are 2 major sports in the country. What I am trying to say is I see the changes, there is a MASSIVE influx of haitians to where you would actually think you are in haiti by looking at the representation of people on the straights and working there low wage jobs on road

From what I've heard is that the issue is that the immigration system is highly disorganized with more people coming over than usual making the disorganized system even more strained. It's hard to come up with a quick solution amenable to all sides involved

The DR economy is maybe good for the top 10% and most others are struggling as it is. It's not like DR doesnt have a ton of corruption and ineffectiveness in their govt either yet the majority of the weight of the immigration and border control is falling on them with Haiti so destabilized

Yeh I wasn’t trying to minimize your point. I agree. The language used Saturday was leaning solely towards representation, Dominican identity and the instability causing their migration.

And yeh man you go some places I legit have zero idea what country I’m in. It’s getting worse in the interior Cibao region where historically there hasn’t been as many as there is now.

I can’t wait till we take the Island back from these me no black papi motherfukkers :pacspit: COLAN GIET PAPPAO
This is a pipe dream until we take Haiti back from the ruling class pillaging it. Most of them mf's are either mulattos or superc00n's that don't even live in the country. Corruption is killing Haiti and it's ability to respond to outside threats.

That was the theme. It wasn’t really xenophobic. It was more so “they aren’t our problem”. “The haitian solution is in Haiti” which is correct. The solution to Haitian stability is in Haiti :yeshrug:. Developing nations cannot handle massive influx of citizens
