If a 14yr old can not only understand the concept of gender but legally change it and take hormones to alter their bodies then that same 14yr old should have the same mental capacity to decide if they want to get peed on by r.kelly or not. A lot of black people saw the LGBTQ train and hopped on it. They figure they can get a few more biscuits claiming to be gay or trans than proudly fighting for their rights as a black man or woman. I have nothing against gay black people. My brother is gay. But, if you're gay first before being black, we have a problem.

I’m not gonna pretend to understand the psychological factors behind it but I have seen it. I’m sure these are situations where the parents have the means to take them to professionals for an accurate diagnosis.

At least you can admit it’s an illness that can be diagnosed. I would just argue that it doesn’t take a “professional” to disagnose that a kid who wants to role play as the opposite sex has mental and emotional problems and needs help.

How can you know you're trans before you even hit puberty? Haven't even gotten your hormone surge yet to even really feel serious sexual feelings.

The problem many of you are having is confusing gender with sexuality. Children identify with a specific gender as early as 6 years of age according to many pediatric studies. If they are assigned a gender (born) that biologically that they do not connect with internally the outcome is often tragic. Depression, suicide, addiction etc. a percentage of everyone’s gay aunt or uncle may have had gender assignment issues. It’s far from a rare disorder.

Kids are targets period. It’s part of life.

“Protecting” them sounds noble but is unrealistic and eventually puts a bigger target on their back.

They’re not unicorns. They need to go through their lumps, learn to snap jokes back, fight or find their tribe just like the rest of our kids.
