They are saying this got him fired.

Yeah, I totally buy this.

We know CNN is trying to pivot to appeal to right-wingers, which is precisely why Zazlav and Licht wanted to get rid of Don Lemon in the first place.

They were waiting for him to fukk up again after the Nikki Haley comments and pushing back on a Republican like this when CNN is actively trying to court them was likely the final straw.

He should have left the moment CNN started to make their heel turn towards the right
Most people could tell CNN ratings were down and they have been trying ultra hard to bait conservatives into watching them
Interestingly, Ana Cabrera was the only one who saw the writing on the wall at CNN and jumped ship to MSNBC.

That bootlicking Indian said the NRA helped Black people secure our rights :hhh:

That's not it. Its because the political discourse is more polarized.
CNN is still Center-Left in an era where being anywhere near moderate is a death sentence. So they really don't have a good target audience. And the areas that WOULD normally be their demos, they've been driven farther right or left. Anchors are still a vital part of the news casting experience. The issue is that Don was one of their highest paid anchors on a show that was floundering. CNN's didn't have a clue what to do after the Cuomo stuff. Because their evening lineup of Wolf Blitzer to Anderson Cooper to Cuomo to Don was working. But then Cuomo fukked up and ruined the formula.
Moving Don to that morning show was absurdity. Also, them trying to more MORE to the center trickled over to shyt like their New Years Eve shyt which was ASS if you didn't let Don and Anderson Cooper get drunk.

Basically, they couldn't hang with the Fox model of the hosts being ok with being the story while reporting the story. It's against a core journalistic tenant, but Fox isn't journalism.

I personally can't fukking watch MSNBC or Fox. And I still think CNN does election coverage better than anyone.
But for people like me who want even a modicum of civilized, measured non-biased news? The only thing we got is the AP/Reuters and they don't have a TV program.
I'm with you on that but the nightly news on ABC, NBC, and CBS tends to be good. Local news is good as well. I still fukk with CNN to an extent but generally it's not the personality driven programs like the Situation Room, The Lead, 360, etc.

Cosigned Bill O'Reilly how?
In 2013 when Zimmerman was found not guilty of killing Trayvon Martin, O'Reilly went on a rant about the out of wedlock rates in the black community, sagging, and other ills of the community. Basically shifting the focus away from Martin's murder and Lemon got on the air and was basically agreeing with him. Now we do have issues in our community but all that had nothing to do with Zimmerman hunting Martin and killing and was not relevant to the issue about Zimmerman walking away free.

I smell a lawsuit coming...

That's white people talking slick.

What Don said wasn't inaccurate. Note that they don't go into when the opportunity to speak with management was provided to him. Seeing as it is mentioned alongside him responding via Twitter as one of his options, it is clear that it came after giving him the axe.

They always do things like that, bad faith offers which they'll spin at a later date.
