I mean confusion of faces looks like a plain breakdown

Concordances are known to be wrong ahch. Plus it can't really account for that phrase. The word used is for a physical 'face'.
Jeremiah 7:19
19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?
This verse definitely can't refer to how someone looks. If anything, confusion of faces refers to having shame due to some form of wickedness which is why Daniel 9:7 says 'righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces'.
