If the sale is forced, the majority owner and all partners are forced out. The entire ownership changes hands, there will be no dispute over Shelly's portion. It will also be gone.
I believe the NBA would be out of luck until the sterlings ownership dispute is settled in divorce which they could drag on for years if they wanted. And the proposed deal with ballmer which the NBA accepted kept shelly a minority owner anyway. She would have still controlled 10% of the team and the league was fine with that.

She was not going to be a 10% owner. She was going to be the ambassador of their charity operation. The NBA released a statement early in all this turmoil that the ownership is ousted as an entire group, not as individuals.

Semantics my friend. It's a loophole. She would be the one in control of the "charity" foundation that owned the 10%. It stated only upon her death would balmer have the option to purchase that 10% back.

"It is not accurate that Mrs. Sterling will have a role with the Clippers or stake in the team," NBA spokesman Mike Bass said.

Lol @ folks thinking he aint been working with Shelly on this nonsense the whole time. The whole point was to delay a vote, drag this out to the off season, and make shellys image cleaner. Now shelly can finalize a divorce which would complicate any forced sale as she would get 50% ownership. And since she can play victim the NBA, c00n rivers, and media will sympathize. Just watch.

yep its gone be a hot summer:lupe:

No matter what happens, mark my words, Clippers players will not become free agents. They probably wont sit out either, and if they do, they will be punished. This is probably about to go into legal litigation, the NBA is about to start doing everything by the rules and there is no precedence to start voiding contracts of active players because they don't like the owner, regardless of what he did.

Sterling has a good case from a legal standpoint and he has the money to withstand a lengthy court battle. In the original thread, I said I would celebrate after the team was sold and he was gone. So far, other than him not being at the games, it's just been a bunch of lip service and a circus. No ACTUAL discipline has been handed down, and there's a great chance that Chris Paul and Doc Rivers will both be collecting checks with Donald Sterling's signature next year. Most of the stuff we're reading in the media is just surface garbage to get us emotional, but through all the smoke and mirrors, nothing big will happen. Unless of course you expect the US justhem system to set a new precedent.

I've been saying this all along....after all the hoopla. DS is STILL the owner of the Clippers and nothing has happened

are you calling ME a whiteboy? :mjlol:

as for the subject at hand, I agree. I've been saying that White Supremacy will not yield that easy just because a 'few black' people were offended. It will do all types of things to protect itself & that is exactly what's going on now
