The former owner of the L.A. Clippers claims that the audio recordings that got him in trouble were “doctored” and that his privacy rights were violated.

Donald Sterling, the former NBA team owner whose racist telephone rant precipitated his loss of the L.A. Clippers, on Friday sued the ex-girlfriend accused of leaking the audio and the entertainment news outlet that broke the story, according to Variety.

The lawsuit accuses ex-girlfriend V. Stiviano of “surreptitiously” recording phone conversations between Sterling and she between September 2013 and April 2014, the report says. Her agents, according to the suit, then provided the audio to TMZ.

A man identified as Sterling can be heard on the recordings saying about Stiviano's Instagram photo with former L.A. Lakers Magic Johnson: “It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it … and not to bring them to my games,” writes the news outlet.

In the aftermath of the scandal, Sterling and his wife, Shelly, sold the Clippers under pressure for $2 billion to former Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer.

The many lawsuits alleging this behavior? Including one with Elgin Baylor who tried to build a team multiple times but was undermined and fired?

You mean David Stern let him cook because his team sucked, let him treat his franchise, its employees, it's fans, and it's players like second class citizens. If you think this wasn't engineered by Silver after the value and profile of the team increased because he KNEW he couldn't have this guy as an owner. It would hurt the value of the league as a whole nowadays.

Yeah, this broad was mad Sterling's wife was coming for "her" cars and house, but the real question..... Why did it take her 2 years to come for it? Cause she only thought it was his mistress? Only when she found out he was spending that family trust money this broad? He's publicly running around with this broad and she was fuming but knew it was going to end up on some Frank McCourt shyt. The truth of the matter, she was looking for that cheddar..... All that money was stuck in real estate....and the team. And Donald didn't want to sell the team but she co-signed the sell because she knew he was getting a chunk of that.

At one point the other owners voted to remove Sterling as an owner of the team and Stern made moves to help him keep the team. You think Stern didn't know he was racist? You think Stern didn't know he had settled all these lawsuits? You think that's the type of dude Adam Silver was going to have in his league? Man, he was itching to Roy Tarpley that dude.

V Stavanio or whatever her name had these tapes and didn't blackmail him with it but instead let this go public..... Just to owe 2.6 million...... Come on. NBA security peeped this broad and the tapes once she said she'd would get over..... He got a copy.... Leaked that shyt.

This whole thing was engineered to
1) Remove Sterling as an Owner
2) Liquidate the most valuable asset so Sterling's wife could get that cash in a divorce
3) Continue to overvalue franchises. A team that doesn't even own its own arena or operations for the arena worth 2 billion? Come on....... The rich get richer.
