U say this, but conservatives have control of Congress, and more critically have a majority of governors and local politicians as well. So there are two factors at play here that could swing the election either way. As cities continue to grow and young people migrate south, Dems may get a bigger stronghold in the South. But on the flip side, people in rural America are pissed and scared, and the GOP plays to them. So things could really go either way. But I don't think it's realistic to say the GOP is one and done. As long as there are poor angry white Christians they will always have a loyal base.
