Stop focusing on the tax changes. The most important thing is repealing the free trade agreements.

The real questions are:

Is it feasible to repeal the trade agreements?
What would the political and economic costs be in doing so?
Can we win a economic war with China?

The economic costs would be tremendous. The last tariff I can remember in 2000, were the steel tariffs in response to steelmaker's lobbying of the GWB administration, and they actually raised unemployment in the steel industry and increased the cost.

- THE UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES OF INCREASED STEEL TARIFFS ON AMERICAN MANUFACTURERS

There are simply not many good reasons to not to try to produce goods as cheaply and efficiently as possible, and make sure that displaced low income and low education workers have a strong welfare system and good education to rely on.

Another unintended consequence would be the rise of organized crime in smuggling these goods into the united states. steel is one thing, but popular consumer goods like electronics or cars from japan and germany would simply get smuggled and sold on the black market below MSRP after the cost of the tariff... this happens in many countries and places already with strict importing laws and taxes

#TrumpSet

I thought it was a joke campaign at first but now I see the light. Donald will be the next President. Who else is going after bullshyt trade agreements and ACTUALLY bringing those overseas jobs back here. His plot is truly genius and it will delay China's takeover for decades.

:sas2:

You do realize that there are other ways to artificially bring back jobs right? A tariff is one way. Another way is to simply forgo the most effective ways of production in order to hire more workers. It seems counter intuitive but the jobs leaving the country or people building machines to replace workers actually have a net benefit for the workers they replace, and americans as a whole.

edit: false statement removed lol

Budget Explainer: How Much Do Americans Pay in Federal Taxes?

2014_tax_explainer_chart1-crop.gif

Let me know if u need an explanation of what a quintile is

But basically everyone making less than $40K on average is getting money back instead of paying income taxes. Everyone making between $40-60K is only paying about 3%.
Can't forget about the false reporting, self-employed rich people who make it look like they make 40k a year :banderas:

Just to be clear it's no income tax for single people making less than $25k a year and for MARRIED couples making less than $50k

:patrice:

They actually get a refund. If Trump gets rid of certain exemptions, they may end up with a tax hike.

Alot of you aren't being very nice in here. This is a good plan, a great plan. Not to mention he will be the greatest jobs
President that God ever created. Just think how many jobs building that big, beautiful wall will bring in. :win:
