Tank voice not capable of classics and style not capable of personal classics. I mean, his MH joint is great but with MH style and personality. Not with Tanks. Donnell is was a classic hit maker. He had three all time songs. Tank has none. Maybe I deserve is still Tank signature track. It wasn't an all timer either. Tank is a great artist but when we are talking about ATG and kings, he doesnt really rank that high. He is not even close to Craig David or Musiq. He is close to guys who Ginuwine and Tyrese but not the all timers.

You need all time generation classics and even better all time great ever classics. Donnell has both. Tank has neither.

You got guys like Al B. Sure with a horrendous personal catalog outside of their songwriting chomps and he has two generational hits and one all time great. For that, he will always rate. Tevin Campbell literally has just two CDs and he rates higher than Tank. Why? Because these nikkas got generational and all time great classics. You need them. That's why Mark Morrison is still an artist in demand. Return of the Mack is a legendary song.

Maybe I deserve is good. It's not a generational track. Its clearly not an all time great track. For that, he would need so many good songs like Jill Scott has to make up the ground that he doesn't have any classics and guess what, he hasn't.

Donell jones is one of the most underrated rnb singers of the late 90s. For me his looks did him in (pause) that's why nikkas like ginuwine finished ahead of him in popularity. Another dude that failed because of his looks in rnb is tevin campbell.

Nikkas really shytting on Tank, musically?

Every time an R&B discussion happens online, I have to remember that most people aren't musically inclined like that.

Breh got memorable classics for me

When it come to R&B artists who popped from 1997-2007 he’s up there, maybe just below Usher for me.:manny:

The tank disrespect is absurd:snoop:
Majority don’t even listen to tank to know how vocally and good his pen game is
Maybe I deserve was a big hit so was please don’t go and when we
His sex love and pain album is a damn classic even rappers and artists were saying that

donell Jones does have bigger hits all time great hits that ain’t a damn question and a classic album or 2
Classic album tank has 1 not sure follow up was considered classic to the people but too me it was the follow up album to sex love and pain

as far as who I would pick man that’s tough but I give it to tank cuz he still put stuff out so it adds up to more songs and I can fukk with donell Jones biggest hits are better than tank I can’t front tho

but tank slander need to stop especially if u haven’t even listened to his shyt I have for both and all their albums
Tank has more consistency with hits while donell has bigger or all time great hits
