Nothing pure about rules mandating every team puts a guy in their order who’d struggle to bat .150 with no power

. For either 2016 or 2017 I saw a graphic near the end of the season that across the majors, pitchers combined to bat .165 for the season . What coherent argument exists for these guys to still be at the plate in 2019?
