Don't Ask Chris Webber about Jalen Rose (Goes off on Doug Gotlieb)

He has spoken on it it tho. Years before the ESPN documentary the whole fab five including Webber did a beyond the glory on Feb. After a while it probably got tiresome or maybe he and Jalen have other issues at play.

Edit: I remember them both being on Best Damn sports show and it was talked about. Plus when he first got the job at TNT they asked him how many timeouts were in college. He seemed to take the joke in stride. Maybe he just doesn't like Jalen for whatever reason. Lol

That's the thing these cats don't understand. If Webber answers the question "in just one interview" that's going to just lead to other reports thinking it's open season and he's STILL gonna get 1,000,000 questions about Jalen Rose and Michigan.

In his book Jalen also paints the picture that while the rest of the Fab Five was super tight that Webber was the more distant member of the group who spent a lot more time with other people. And he mentions instances of popping up at Freaknik and running into Webber and being shocked that he didn't mention that he was going knowing the others were going. Then how throughout their NBA years hed do shady stuff like telling them he had hotel room waiting for them at all-star game and they'd show up and there was no room and how he would dodge their calls. Also says it was the other members of the fab five who pushed him to open up and speak on Webber shunning the rest of them since he was the one with the voice in the national media and people need to be made aware of what was going on with them.

It basically sounds like, as people have said forever, Webber simply didn't like them as much as they liked him, particularly Jalen.

The thing I got from the breakfast club interview was that Jalen was adamant about mentioning how Ed Martin was their father figure. My first thought was, C Webb probably didn't see it quite that way, because unlike Jalen his real father was a part of his everyday life.. Jalen is expecting Webb to have the same loyalty and allegiance that he did, when his relationship with Martin could have been completely different.

true, but assuming what jalen said was true, disloyalty and just as importantly the disrespect chris allegedly showed ed was blatant and would explain alot about why chris just doesnt want to deal with it. and having a real father that by all accounts is a good one, you should know better at some point

But folks forget that Chris's father was also indicted for saying the same exact story to the grand jury that his son did about Martin.. So you got to read between the lines and see that Mayce Webber wasn't really fukkin with Martin either.. It's actually likely that Chris was taking his que from his pops..It's kinda unreasonable for Jalen to expect Webber to go against his real father to support a so called "father figure"..
