Yeah if u white... they have connections and fellow white people that help them out or even more important their family leave behind life insurance policies which they in turn flip into a business

Us as black people u have to get a job and try to build from that , because many families don’t leave life insurance policies, Damn sure we don’t have connections from our own to help start a business because many not all are on this I got to do for self shyt

I'm inspired as fukk but with no real skills, I need to learn something ASAP.

what are your hobbies or passions? What do you like to do? How can you trade your time for money or arbitrage attention somehow for money?

the opportunity is out there. People are making money on FB, IG, twitter for anything from making videos to being funny.

there are so many ways to make money out there that if you dedicate yourself to one and really focused on it, you’d be able to start something you didn’t think capable.

I know that sounds super generic. Here are some tangible ways to make money online if you REALLY want to:

find local small businesses and ask them how much their average customer is worth to them. Ask them if you can send them business by offering a promotion for a fee (maybe an override on all the business you send them :manny:)

Learn their business and then create a Facebook ad (easier said than done I know, but you can easily learn how online for free) and spend $10 a day on it. Guaranteed after a week you’d have sent that business some clients. Duplicate.

Find small businesses on IG that need graphic work or animation work or any digital work really. Get the scope of work from them on exactly what they want. Start a Fiverr account and find a contractor to do what the businesses asks you to do, and then charge the business more than what you pay on Fiverr. No technical skills needed :ohhh:

Find topical trending topics for a niche market (let’s say black people... not niche I know but a specific need) and create a t shirt company using catch phrases that are incredibly topical. Maybe promote one t shirt a day. Yesterday a big topic was Kid Rock saying “Fyck Oprah” so your one T shirt yesterday could’ve been “Fyck Kid Rock”. Use the website”custom Ink” and you’ll never have to actually create a shirt until you have the orders. Charge $20 for a $13 shirt you’re just an order taker and an instagram marketer.

I’ve done all of these and made money online. My personal issue is that I get bored easily even when making money on autopilot and end up stopping my ventures. But if you find passion in anything like those, and continue them, there’s money to be made :yeshrug:

Good thread. Literally any skill can be learned on YT. A contractor quoted me $8k to replace all the windows in my house. I learned how to install windows myself and completed the job for less than $1500. I could easily turn this into a 6 figure business/hustle if my other ventures don't work out.

True. The internet age has changed the game .

I was looking to get into the t-shirt business, and I was going through various forums. I stumbled on one about printing on materials.

A guy created a coffee mug business by reaching out to all the local car dealerships, and offering to make, and ship mugs of new car owners. The dealerships always take pics of the people next to their new cars. So at the end of the day, they email him the pics, and he puts them on the mug, and the dealership logo on the other side. I don’t remember how much he charges them per mug, but it ends up being advertising for them, plus he drops ships them, which is also less work for the dealership.

So it’s basically the cost of the mug press, and the mugs, and the time and effort to reach out to the dealerships. You can also reach out to schools, and team coaches who may do dinners and banquets for teams at the end of the season.

This is what we’re talking about. It’s the mentality that you won’t even ATTEMPT to do it, because you think you can’t.

Neck ties and boxing gloves.
The problem with black people's thinking is that when someone says start a business or make a job, they automatically assume you're going to try to make a corporation that pulls in a million dollars a year in revenue.

The reality of the situation is that there are many ways to make the equivalent of a regular job working by yourself with minimal to moderate overhead.

There's lawn care, a business which can be started for under $1000 (the cast of a lawn mower and weed eater), for anyone with a trade they can start to transition existing customers into a private practice, people who are handy with photoshop and can do basic website design can make money designing logos, advertisements, and websites for other small businesses...

I've seen a black woman on my Facebook page grow from making and selling plates on weekends to opening her own restaurant and is about to open a 2nd location.

The opportunities are out there but we have to many pessimists who prefer to wallow in self pity and victimhood and disguise it as "wanting better". The reality is that they project their laziness on the entire black population. And with our tendency to engage in group think, that defeatist attitude gets absorbed as "black culture"

This.

If you can't come up with the next new app or a start up for a venture even if it requires late hours and actually interacting with demographics outside your comfort zone, then fukk off.

There's an institutional handicap for sure but don't use it as an excuse to p*ssy out.
