Problem with drinking and driving is that you can get away with it 99 out of 100 times but that 100th time can be fatal for you or someone else.

Just went through a DUI check point knowin I was faulty. I got lucky tonight. This was my wake up call :blessed:

Have you ever had to hear a mom talk about losing her son to a drunk driver?

Single mom. Raised him by herself. Just her and him against the world.

Her only child/ son

18

Made everyone laugh

Preparing for college

Wasn't a perfect kid. But Finally stopped getting in trouble and took his life seriously.

Voted funniest student/ most likely to succeed as TV show host in yearbook

Photos of him with other seniors looking forward to being a grown up

According to mom "he was a hit with the little ladies" photos of him with cheerleaders

She had just went to a comedy concert with him the weekend prior. They had a great time.

his friend was driving while completely wasted and crashed into rail.

Car burst into flames. Son peeled off of car seat.

Son layed up in burn unit burnt from head to toe. Clothes melted into skin. Life support.

Doctors ask if she will consent to let him die now or go through 3 years of ago agonizing pain and rehabilitation and still will need life long assistance to live, will never walk talk see or hear IF he survives the painful surgery

She told doctors to let him go

Doctors gave her and family few last minutes with him

As she held his hand he whispered "good thing I wore clean underwear huh" (one last joke) then he said "....I'm sorry mom"

Her never forgetting the smell of burnt flesh and hair

Her wanting to cry everytime she hears the word "Mom" (have you ever thought about how often you hear that word)

The accident happened 2 years ago. All the sons childhood pictures with mom show a happy woman with bright eyes and a huge smile. Today (two years later) her face is droopy, looks a lot thinner ,looks like she's aged 20 years and probably hardly ever smiles

All this because someone decided while tipsy ..."fukk that I CAN DRIVE!!"

Ill never look at drink driving the same way again.

One night a few summers back I had drank a few beers and mixed drinks from 8 PM to about 11 PM. Decided to leave a party at around 1. Was coherent enough to drive and IMO sober but that doesn't I was "under the limit". Dropped one of my friends home and was driving home when I got pulled over. Never was more nervous in my life. Legitimately thought my life was over that minute. Fortunately cop pulled me over for a busted tail light and that was it.

From that day forward I just said fukk it, if I'm drinking, I'm not driving regardless of when I stopped. Either walk home or call for a ride. That or don't drink and just be designated driver. No need to throw your life away over dumb shyt like this.
