Stop it breh. I don't just complain about white supremacy. I'm a member of a bunch of Atlanta based black organizations. I donate my time to them, and I donate money.

Doing it for a week won't make a difference if y'all come right back next week and give them all of your money. All they've learned is black people aren't going anywhere.

If you want to fight white supremacy, look around your community and see what businesses are lacking that you can start, and open it up as soon as you can. Invest back into your same community to address the needs of black folks there. Get involved in your local political office and endorse/financially back candidates who have the best interest of black people in mind. Join a black based organization in your community and take on a leadership position.

There's a million one things we can do that we would be a lot more effective than a one day black out that ends with us still giving our money right back to white people.

For one we can start with putting our money into a black bank, that way when one of us decides to get a business loan, we're less likely to face discrimination from white underwriters.
So basically ur telling me that ur agaisnt a movement trying to motivate people to do everything you just mentioned? :heh:

How are people going to primarily spend their money in black businesses when they dont even know those black businesses exist, when that culture isnt strong enough at the moment? What is a better opportunity for black people to see what were lacking in in terms of consumer needs, than something like this?

Its like u guys are seeing this as an end all be all. Do it for one day then were done :what:. Nah, this is a way to encourage black ppl to buy in black businesses while simultaneously making a statement. Its a practical way to get us organized and get things started. Again, theres literally no negatives to participating, so why cant u?

Yeh the idea of a black bank is something ive pondered on before and is a great idea. Im sure itll be even more effective when were more united and a culture of group economics is in place.

Absolutely. Not only does it stand out on any resume, its a huge help in understanding other cultures which can benefit you in a number of ways. Gaining perspective is never a waste of time.

Just starting down the road is significant. And raising kids bilingual is shown to have plenty of benefits as well.

Big business is gonna get their money from you whether it's Sunday or Tuesday though.
Who said being bilingual isnt an asset. My question is, how would you go about making the majority of our people bilingual in a way that's more practical than black out monday and more beneficial than its overall goal of instilling a culture of group economics and black unity?

What is the shyt ur talking about?.. you aren't saying shyt.

Me and my sons r bilingual... and I can hold conversations in Arabic. My sons r under ten and have been to 3 continents.. you probably never left black hater naysayers township

Random nikkas learning random languages when the masses aren't fully aware of their condition does nothing.

Helping people become aware of group economics actually helps.
That nikka think speaking spanish is gonna fix all our problems :mjlol: :skip:

Breh, the idea is good, but the execution isn't. Even if you wanted to do it for just one day, the goal for blackout monday isn't very clear at all.

This flyer says it's in a response to Mike Brown's shooting, so black people aren't going to buy anything on Monday. Monday ends and everything you didn't buy on Monday you buy on Tuesday, what exactly changed?

The only communication regarding the blackout is the flyer in the OP, and it says nothing of what this is meant to change. How will this end police shootings or police brutality?

The idea is right, but the execution is wrong. I was working with a group here in Atlanta that was attempting to get black people to practice group economics through incentives.

most flyers don't say anything about brown

the ones I saw were just talking about supporting black owned

and I received a few text from people i know listing off all these local places..

but then again, i run in different circles.

With mistakes all over the place, I can't take this any more serious than the "Purge" posters people were posting on FB a few weeks back.

I think you completely missed the entire point of @bdizzle post :snoop:

I'm all for black folks collectively doing somethin positive. But you gotta look at the BIG picture. What is a 1 day boycott really gonna do long term?

They should have announced it a month ago so they would be far more participants in this.
