heres a gas station in a pretty vacant part of AZ. pricetag still 1.2million.

i spoke to an arab about how they do it, and he basically put me up on a loan scam. i dont know remember the specifics, but they basically take out business loans then transfer the businesses to another family members name after a certain period of time to avoid paying it. maybe someone knows what im talking about and can help clarify

I don't know breh. There's just something about our culture that dissuades us from wanting to start a business. In all those other countries, if you gotta wait for someone to give you a job so you can eat, you'd starve. So they come here with the same mentality of self dependence.

I just looked for some in Atlanta and they weren't that expensive on the real. 200k for a gas station/mini mart and 150k for a supermarket.

Just found this thread on reddit about some dude who said he makes 150k/yr owning gas stations.

http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1bdvhr/i_make_over_150k_a_year_owning_my_own_gas/

Lets do my 7-11 as an example and give you the financial of it. This store does about $1.8 million a year in sales which is around 5k a day. Keep in mind 7-11 takes about 48% of the profit. Now this month after all expenses(employee salaries, cost, expenses) I got a check from 7-11 for $7,000. And the $174,000 I made before taxes last year was from both stores by myself. These are high volume stores. My hours are about 70 hours a week. And the tank is internally divided just like you said. And those trucks hold a lot of gas, and can go to multiple stations.

Breh, the idea is good, but the execution isn't. Even if you wanted to do it for just one day, the goal for blackout monday isn't very clear at all.

This flyer says it's in a response to Mike Brown's shooting, so black people aren't going to buy anything on Monday. Monday ends and everything you didn't buy on Monday you buy on Tuesday, what exactly changed?

The only communication regarding the blackout is the flyer in the OP, and it says nothing of what this is meant to change. How will this end police shootings or police brutality?

The idea is right, but the execution is wrong. I was working with a group here in Atlanta that was attempting to get black people to practice group economics through incentives.
I can agree on the execution lacking.

How come no one promoted this day, like, a month ago? :what:

This info came way too late for drastic action to take place.

I didn't spend any money today. It wasn't because I was taking part in this, but I just happened not to have to purchase anything. :manny:

Maybe this could be relaunched but next time give people information about how they can continue supporting black businesses for more than one day
