@THE RETIRED SKJ

i can't argue with that... :manny:

i recall a few years ago supervising a project in which i was sent a number of temp employees to complete the task...

well we had the unfortuante situation of having to work a few saturdays...which nobody liked..but i made it more enjoyable by allowing them to play music

usually pick the pandora station they wanted to listen to on my laptop computer with the speakers attached....

this one particular YOUNG LADY i say about 20 years old....insisted on having the station on some "turn up music" because in her words ...

"dat slow music and r&b shyt yall be playing be making me go to sleep and i swear omg im gonna go home"...

so i just kinda shook my head an laughed ...and she said.."hey bossman don't fault me...blame my daddy" :manny:to

and i responded .."what yo daddy got to do with this?" :patrice:

she responded.."everytime he would pick me up from my mama house for visitation he would be bumping nothing but Triple Six Mafia..UGK and all that gangsta azz shyt...lol"....

i was like well "i guess that's how u was raised..i ain't mad at ya"
:whew:

hold on lil breh... :whoa:

pete rock might be a lot of things..but he is FAR from a HOE

i still respect the Older God..like i said in another thread...Pete is one of my icons when it comes to this deejaying shyt..i use to stay up late nights to record his show on WBLS back in 89'

and he is Top 5 one of the best producers of all time in hip hop :blessed:

i just don't like this GENERATIONAL DISCONNECT and REGIONAL BEEF ...it's not neccesary and healthy at all

people both YOUNG and OLD need to keep thier opinions to themselves...

thier is enough ROOM for all GENERATIONS in this hip hop thing.....young cats are controlling the airwaves and internet....

and older cats are doing damn well on og veteran tours and still able to eat off thier catalogs if they did thier paperwork right..

so let's DIALOGUE without DEGRADING each other

Nobody was tryna be like them nikkas and they was doing they own shyt in they own lane.
Half these lil nikkas wasn't even alive when 3-6 was on they shyt.
Blame lies soley on Atlanta and Lil Wayne for this generation of drug addict trash ass "rappers"
They use Memphis to undermine Atlanta's musical success.

Nah u gotta see what the OP was conveying and i know for a FACT there is some truth to it...

the most dysfunctional mofos i knew back then whom are unfortunatly PARENTS now and had kids at a young age raising em all fukked up..

were the TRIPLE SIX MAFIA fans ...who were fighting...thugging and drugging ..gangbanging (folks, gd) back then ..

no lie....give u an example

my first deejay i ever managed i happened to land him a nice lil gig at a club in south carolina where he would be the opening slot deejay from 9 pm to 12 to warm the crowd up before the host deejay would actually come on...

it wasn't much money i'll admit ..we (me and the dj) were just finally happen to get some exposure from the hottest club in the town....

anyway when we arrive for our friday night debut set....the Club owner pulled me aside while my deejay was doing his lil soundcheck and equipment setup and ran down a list of rules that we had to OBEY everytime we deejayed at his spot

and the one RULE that stood out was that he loudly proclaimed to me while the music was just starting was....Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES is your deejay to play any TRIPLE SIX MAFIA tunes particularly TEAR THE CLUB UP!!!...

so asked him while laughing...."yo why is this such an issue with Triple Six Mafia?"

and he responded..."N1gga everytime the host deejay put that on...them muthaphukas really did try to tear my shyt up!!!!!!!...i can't have that mane....i swear to god i will throw u and yo deejay out on yall azz if you don't follow that rule ..okay?"

i was like :ohhh: i understand..

people fail to understand TRIPLE SIX impact's not just music wise but culturaly.....WAKA FLOCKA aint had shyt on them when it came to energy and all the other rammifications that came with it...(violence and drugs)

and this is what alot of OG's was raised on......and unfortunatly it wasnt just entertainment ...but a way of life

Yea i know 3-6 had/has a ratchet fanbase in the South but what does that have to do with what Pete Rock was talking about?
3-6 didnt shift the culture Atlanta's trap music and lil wayne did.

I bet Père Rock won’t attack Project Pat on IG...

it aint even about the Gucci mane influence from Memphis ....

hell i know for a fact NYC had some fukked up immoral music as well PRIOR to Triple Six Mafia and Memphis sound...

Or LIL WAYNE....

It wasn't ONE ARTIST that cause a descent into "immorlity" in rap music....

it was a plethora of artists NOT limited to one region or era.....

i had the benifit of hearing NYC mixtapes and radio while living in the tristate before i made the full transition to the south in the late 90's....

and i recall hearing some STRAIGHT FUKKERY on Nyc mixtapes and live radio (stretch and bobbito , 89-tec 9)

like these lil byatches out of the Bronx called P.M.S

these heffas i'll admit was fine as fukk :whew: but were foul as fukk on the mic..they said shyt that would make Cardi B. look like a Nun...

dope on the mic i'll admit...just immoral as a muthaphuka :russ:

lines like.....
"check it n1gga..i got flavas
but im not pushing blowpops and nowalaters
im pushing CRACK out the back of louie's BODEGA!!"

or the original "rampage" from the bx (not from the flip squad) who stated...

"stop swearing or caring if i pull the trigger
i pull the arms of old people off like ACTION FIGURES!" :damn:

and it wasn't just crack cocaine raps and gun busting these NYC rappers were yapping about

keep in mind the horrorcore era of the early 90's was in full swing...and mofos had NO FILTER ON WHAT THEY SAID :whoa:

like probally the most disgusting rap i ever heard was spit on the CULTURALY CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED RADIO SHOW...stretch and bobbito

where Keith Nut accompanied by Fat Joe and the Terror squad said and i quote.....

"I AIN'T YOUR ORDINARY N1GGER ..MISTER!
I DO SHYT LIKE SUKK MY OWN DIKK
AND CHiLD MOLEST MY LITTLE SISTER"

And keep in mind nobody checked or held Keith Nut for saying such sick shyt...because in reality ALOT OF NYC "LYRICAL" RAPPERS were saying some disgusting unethical shyt...but GOT PASSES...CAUSE THEY WERE FROM THE 5 BOROS AND WERE "NICE ON THE MIC" SON :beli:

Sorry im just keeping it real as my OLDER GOD peers would say..I CAN'T SUGAR COAT SHYT ABOUT THE OLD SCHOOL

and i don't buy this whole WELL IF IT'S LYRICAL B...HE'S DOING IT FOR THE CULTURE

NAH FUKK DAT.....FOUL IS FOUL....

Cause just because you pour SYRUP over SH1T don't MAKE IT PANCAKES :mjpls:
