I go to mexico like 2- 3 times a year (specifically Puerto Vallarta) and have never had trouble. When i'm there, plenty of canadians and europeans there too.

Not sure why people are so scary.

Puerto Vallarta is cheap, has great beaches, great food, affordable, lots of similar comforts we are used to in America (home Depot, Walmart, gas stations, etc, great clubs, etc
