Ignore everything I stated.. Good for him u think he'll open the door for other ny artist to come in? Or hell have a few songs and fade into obscurity.. I'll bet money on the latter
Desiigner is just the creative, auto tuned, destructive, more hood side of Kanye, Kanye wishes he was, probably. He can take all the creative risks he wants, while he finds himself. The ADHD kid we ALL know Kanye is inside. With the A&R and design, marketing, promotion and product placement G.O.O.D. Music is capable of bringing to the table, I'd bet money that Desiigner takes over Future's spot very soon.
You heard his mixtape? Son coming like Keef was, just less gang lingo & bodies dropping, but if he bout that, he bout that.

Pusha signing off on him was a good move, IMO.
Not only is BK already going through a renaissance in the sports, arts & entertaiment sectors...But NY is far behind the wave of producing STARS for the 16-24 age demographic, which is the most important one in terms of Hip-Hop marketing and sales. Who did we really have that could hold a candle to what THE FANS wanna hear these days from cats like Young Thug, Travis Scott, Future, Migos, Tory Lanez, O.T. Genasis & this new wave of cats like Young Greatness, etc. who's whole style is built off of or bolstered by Auto-Tune?
Who in NY could do it and sound good doing it without stepping out of THEIR comfort zone and sounding forced? I'm all for lyricism, but the problem is, the backpack purists don't want to admit that what Desiigner does, requires lyricism. It's not my style, but it actually takes a little more attentive ear to catch half of the mumbled punchlines these newer, younger cats are using, but it also increases the replay value of the song if they lyrics are up to par. By the time the beat already gets you hooked, you don't give a fukk that you've replayed the line ten times to figure out what the fukk he was saying before you go

and in a real nikka eyes, that's genius.
