thats why Drake better watch his back

Them execs in the lab right now tryna cook up a new him.
Thats why he got all these writers, so he can keep switching his style up.
I said this in another thread and will say it again; in 2025 when the king of rap is some blond headed white boy from somewhere like New England or the Northwest who happens to have a very connected father/grandfather who got him in the right offices and financed his writing and production crew I don't wanna hear nothing. nikkas have shown us style >>>> substance & originality.

I don't care how many "street platinum" nikkas exist, as soon they find a white boy with that "it" factor/marketability, it's over.

Also can we talk about his production? I know some people who hate on Future say the beats carry him but TBH brehs...a lot of those beats sound the exact same to me. It's all an 808, trap drums/hi hats, and some type of program sample. I'm not really into Metro like that brehs, which some of you guys might say is heresy. But still. It's the same thing. Yea his shyt probably knocks harder than most "generic trap producers" but still. Same thing.

For instance I love Wicked, the 808s are perfect. But that cheap ass synth sound almost kills the mood. I can't help but listen to that and think damn, why not get some jazz players to do that, sample it, and it'll sound so much better.

Basically brehs ATL trap music is now the equivalent of 2005 era NY sped up soul shyt. All those generic ass soul beats that were on mixtapes, trying to mimic Heatmakerz/Just Blaze/Kanye/etc. It's just a formula everyone and their mother is doing now and frankly I'm not impressed....

I do like a lot of Southside and London On Da Track beats tho.

In the Silver Lining
:ufdup:You all allowed the South's snap to the trap raps dominate the sound of hip-hop for more than a decade.

It was all good when TI and jeezy was bringing something new to the table. But then y'all let TI bring in the shoulder lean.

:usure:Then y'all wanted something more hood than jeezy and propped up incoherent, mumbling ass GUCCI.

:dame:Y'all wanted trap shyt that y'all can dance to, y'all started stanky legging garbage ass trap music for the next 3 years till the damn autotune wave washed over rap like the great flood.

:aicmon:Y'all got more trappier, the dances got more fruitier, the mumbling in autotune go more incoherent. BUT WAIT, THERE IS MORE....

:martin:YALL GAVE DRAKE THE PASS. BITING AND BEING FRAUDULENT IS NOW THE WAVE. how you gonna complain about DESIIGNER biting future, when you allow DRAKE to bite, and future is a tpain/GUCCI/lil wayne Street shark?

:beli:Fast forward today, a bunch of fakkit ass trap rappers in autotune dancing all over the place.

:ufdup:Well this is what you fakkits created, and you know what..IM GOING TO ROCK WITH IT.

#DESIIGNERnest nikka, ride this bullshyt till the wheels fall off, cause Lord knows it will. At least there will be chaos and fukkery till the end.

:wow: ....

Honestly if future just took a picture with him or something he would've most likely been a one hit wonder or at least wouldn't be as popular as his now. now future just look childish not saying his name in a article and shyt he just giving the man more attention. hate to disrespect a legend like fewch but he losing right now:yeshrug:

Take a picture with him for what?

wicked a sample from a super smash bros stage tho. while i do agree with you, if we're being honest live instruments won't get you nowhere in this day and age unless its someone like kendrick lamar and even then it's debatable.
