and music on a professional level is made to make companies money. made to make these young boys famous so they can get real money doing ads, commercials, get in movies, tv,reality shows, etc.

its a BUSINESS. the business says, you make the music that people want to hear.

There are people making solid music right now as we type back and forth yet only 1000 or so people even know who these people are. thats a shame. but thats because their music does not fit the strip club/trap/autotune narrative.
which is chosen by WOMEN strippers.

the strippers could say no i want better music. but of course they dont and wont. they are stripping, drunk, high and they aint in love with the genre like that. so they have a who cares attitude. as long as i can dance and sing along to it.

so the rappers have to put out a product that will make companies money.


women dictate the market. the market doesnt dictate itself.

there was a time when the market was men, and we would tell the rappers what we wanted to hear. and they woudl give us that.

Also can we talk about his production? I know some people who hate on Future say the beats carry him but TBH brehs...a lot of those beats sound the exact same to me. It's all an 808, trap drums/hi hats, and some type of program sample. I'm not really into Metro like that brehs, which some of you guys might say is heresy. But still. It's the same thing. Yea his shyt probably knocks harder than most "generic trap producers" but still. Same thing.

For instance I love Wicked, the 808s are perfect. But that cheap ass synth sound almost kills the mood. I can't help but listen to that and think damn, why not get some jazz players to do that, sample it, and it'll sound so much better.

Basically brehs ATL trap music is now the equivalent of 2005 era NY sped up soul shyt. All those generic ass soul beats that were on mixtapes, trying to mimic Heatmakerz/Just Blaze/Kanye/etc. It's just a formula everyone and their mother is doing now and frankly I'm not impressed....

I do like a lot of Southside and London On Da Track beats tho.

That's a very dangerous area where southern rap is. That can make the whitewashed invasion THAT much easier. All it takes is a white dude to come with a new sound that black folk mess with, and it's over, word to @Shadow King

That's his whole point. Those songs strippers choose to twerk to is what gets pushed to the top. If you don't have a presence in that lane you'll have a hard time becoming a mainstream artist. And the exceptions often get criticized for not getting play in the club/streets. That wave of club driven Crunk and snap music from the mid 2000s changed the market.

Yeah, the excessive push of a non lyrical hit killed off black music. It was also the same time when autotune came in and killed off black rnb.

If future does not learn how to get the silento kid crowd from Desiigner.
Future could be exactly what happened ro rich homie quan.
Future was quick to battle quan,....now he needs to battle Desiigner.
He was into it with thug til Gucci got back..maybe because he felt thug was like quan.
Yet and still now you got to battle Desiigner and future may not be able to duck Desiigner like he did thug.

That already is happening,...white people have basically taken the trap sound with 808's and mixed in their edm meets triphop shyt and now have a while style to run with.
That has no cultural bearing and is what pop music is expected to sound like ala Katy Perry and juicy j.
Arguably the best mixed trap record ever.

So, they already doing that and since trap has regressed lyricism.
to just as stereotypically bad as most rap found on early goldie, massive attack , and tricky styled triphop production.
That eliminated the plat draw of the genre moving forward and only allowed the staple group to draw afterward.
So, they have already commercialized trap as the go to sound for pop music and it is on every channel from NBC to nick and Disney.
