Lebron James and other nikka are literally the face of the NBA. The NBA needs them, their talent, their skill and hard work. NBA ain't like any other profession in the world. Unlike 90 of Americans that can go to another company and get paid fairly or recognized fairly for their job skills as a bargaining chip if lebron decides to play ball somewhere else, where is he going?

He'll lebron has worked hard to become an actor and market himself, he could still pull in money through advertising or maybe movie roles if he dedicates himself. The average job is likely doing well at their job but not well enough to say "hmm want to be ceo of this company one day" or "I want to buy 15% of this companies shares"

Point blank lebron has more financial freedom to own the cavs he doesn't have enough dough to buy them outright but he could get a decent share and acquire more, hell if a lot of players black players wanted to do so they could too.
