I called the young fella I knew and told him he deserved every moment he got and

There are currently 30 teams, Lets start at the top with the commissioners, back to lets say 1963 because thats fair, integration and all...J Walter Kennedy, Larry O'Brien, David Stern Adam Silver...all white. Of the 30 teams, black coaches we have 7 that are black, 1 that is filipino. 73% of the coaches are white, 23% black, 1% other. and 50% of them did not play pro ball. With the majority of the ones with no NBA experience having played in college there are still some cats that never even played college basketball that are head coaches!
In the league we have 74.4 percent black players, 23.3 percent white players, 1.8 percent Latinos, and 0.2 percent Asian.
Other than Usher (minor), Michael Jordan, and Will Smith (minor). Every single team is owned by wealthy white men. Wealthy white men who have their name on other notable brands and have had fortunes prior to owning an NBA team. And you don't want to know how many of them every played college or professional ball, although you can probably guess.
So why own an NBA team? Because it's cool, it's a great way to allow money to make money for you.
