I grew up watching these movies, stopped when I became a teenager and got into other shyt. Been comin back to em recently. They hold up well enough.

As far as the song and dance, that's when I go to the bathroom/get a sandwich. They try to put a little bit of everything in these joints for the widest possible mass appeal.

If you're looking for it to be serious, check out Deewar (the 1975 version). It's got a couple songs that the producers were forced to put in by the studios but maintains a serious tone otherwise. Damn good flick. For unbridled ridiculousness, check out the Race movies.

And yes, Salman Khan still makes movies, but I wouldn't recommend watching them.

Indian movies are trash. They always force some corny love story into the mix and of course there has to be an excuse to bust out with a song/dance sequence :scusthov: Bollywood doesn't seem interested in making serious films that have depth, I can't fukk with them at all.

These Korean movies though :wow: that's all I've been watching for like 3 straight weeks. Bollywood should take notes.
they are trash in terms of narrative and delivery etc. But they do offer a sense of escapism, the brilliant dance sequences and also landscape features.
