For me flow & presence on a track is more important than anything
Can turn a song from good to great, a lot of Kendrick's stuff is good at it
But beats are definitely more important than lyrics for me

Dope beats. I used be a lyrical head as a youngster, but the music has to be good. I can't listen to awful beats/music. I care about lyrics too, but I'm more forgiving of bad lyrics than bad beats. If someone has average lyrics, but they pick dope beats and can flow and ride on the beat smooth with a solid mic presence, I'd prefer that all day over someone like Eminem who is a great technical rhymer but picks really bad production.
