Really nice documentary folks, touches on the groundbreaking work of Dr. Mutulu Shakur in drug rehabilitation treatment through acupuncture as well the collaborative community efforts of the Black Panthers and Young Lords in NYC.
Light bump, this is really worth watching, especially if you want some insight into the type of world Pac came from to become who he became. It paints a very vivid picture of the New Left community in 70s NYC that was facing up against the societal challenges of drug addiction, crime, and police brutality. It’s a community which included the Panthers and in particular the Shakur “clan”.
This doc has a nice quality of touching on many other points without leaving the main point.
