I never thought about it until now, but I wonder if Short's cover inspired Nas's HHID album cover. Kinda like Slick Rick's Great Adventures cover inspired Stillmatic's album cover.

This is dope to me. I miss hbcu football season
new to me. it does look better, that night time low rider music.
Looks a thousand times better in print. I used to see it promoed in the rap mags..
was so disappointed when it dropped and it was something else..

I also think you can't mix "the dopest" album covers up w/ simply being "iconic". For example, this album is pretty simple...
Covers similar to this, get mentions for nostalgic, and iconic purposes.
