With the Detroit D boy rap scene taking off in the last few years it's fair to say they were just ahead of their time. When they were bubbling, ATL trap music was the only wave hood nikkas was checking for.

I remember listening to DBC/Payroll tapes back then and my nikkas would hit me with the because the beats, slang and accent was damn near foriegn to them. Fast forward 5 years and these same nikkas love Peezy,Babyface Ray,Allstar JR etc..
