all of this shyt is a gamble and could go either way...I'll never tell anybody NOT to invest in bitcoin, that would be stupid

but Boyce is a finance professor, this is literally his job...his opinions hold a little weight :francis:

I can respect that, but just like I mentioned above there are so many finance oriented people who really don't understand the first thing about bitcoin and are looking at trends without understanding the causation because they aren't invested in the tech side.

Show of hands, how many people knew Vega was going to increase the value of Bitcoin?

If you had a room of tech heads and a room of financial people, all the tech people would have raised their hands and the finance people would have looked around and said, "Whats Vega? :dahell:"

so do you feel Boyce isn't really qualified to speak on this, be it for or against?

I'm asking seriously - when he first started talking about this a while back I was skeptical b/c like you said, you have to be sort of educated and schooled in crypto-currencies

Maybe he is, maybe he's not.

I'm just saying that this is Deja Vu becasue the EXACT same thing happened years ago when bitcoin leveled out at 1k before dropping a bit and every financial person was saying "THE CRAZE IS OVER, SELL SELL SELL":damn:

And the tech people were saying... wait a minute, HBM is around the corner... coin value about to go up :patrice:

I mean damn... this shyt literally already happened :dwillhuh:

This shyt was common sense to an outsider.

Too many saw it as a get rich quick for nothing scheme. I had a manager at work quit because of this shyt. The hype was unsustainable.

It’s probably a good thing as now the serious investors who understand nothing good comes for free will remain level headed

I might throw some money in there next paycheck once I can understand it a bit more

Skimmed through...

As someone who has been mining off and on for nearly a decade, I personally don't want to hear someone's advice on bitcoin who probably has no idea how mining even works.

It is a long video so i might have missed it, but does he even mention double fp, cuda, cpgpu changes, ASICs, Moore's law, blockchain?

If these phrases sound foreign to you... you probably know less about cryptocurrencies than you think

The real surprise to me has been ethereum.
They have the most lax security and were hacked really bad in 2016 so I thought that would reduce consumer faith in them.

But this is where my tech expertise fails me and where I would need the advice of a finance professor because, to me, a hackable cyrptocurrency is a bad... bad thing.

Did you watch the video though?

He was saying that the craze is over as in the casuals surrounding the Bitcoin thing will probably move on to the next thing (media included). He wasn't saying the craze over Bitcoin is over, it's going away, sell while you can etc. At least not from my interpretation.

I'm not a finance person, and I will never claim to be so take everything I say with that in mind.

I've had talks with my tech buddies and this is our conclusion. Blockchain is the single most important tech innovation since the internet.

Its absolutely ingenious and I (personally) expect it to be the standard by which not only all currencies are judged, but all resources are judged as well.

The investor life and the entrepreneur life are very similar...

And this applies to any investment, venture, or business...

If you aint ready for the low days... The days where the investments aint hitting... The days where the product aint selling... Then you aint ready for the days when your investments are flying high... & You aint ready for the days where its raining money

If you can't handle the lows, you dont deserve the highs

As soon as things get turbulent, weak nikkas start shaking in their boots.... Thats how you see who really has the stomach to live this life and who's really bout this life.

I've lost so much Goddamn money in my life on different investments that flopped and failed businesses.... I've felt the pain already... I'm immune to that shyt now.... You think nikkas scared of some crypto?? LOL

This is part of the game when youre an investor or entrepreneur... You gonna get punched in the face repeatedly..... Alot of nikkas end up folding and giving up cause they aint built for that shyt.... And thats fine.... But weak nikkas need to stay in their lane .... Cause nikkas who really get money NEVER been scared of taking risks.....

Its a long video, i was moreso skimming looking for the techside and I didn't see it. If i'm not doing the video justice then I apologize
