I own and operate a very successful business in Charlotte and have hired black and mentored black people (I have two CACs on staff though). I've helped other black people start their own businesses and become independent. On a personal and business level I seek out people from my community first to spend money with. I'm a member of 100 Black Men of Charlotte and I school and mentor these younger brothers.

I'm a child of Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, W.E.B Dubois and their philosophy is the blueprint that I live my life by because those brothers had it right since back in the day.
I'm reasonably free and independent from the CAC since he doesn't sign my check. I'm all about black empowerment and black nationalism. I don't give a fukk about assimilating or integrating with the CAC. I'm married to a black woman that feels exactly the same why as I do and practices the same shyt that I practice.

That's my small part in advancing the black cause.

Side note, how is the 100 black men as an organization? Someone told me about the 100 black men of Atlanta group, but I'm ouchea in the belly of the beast aka sodom and ghommora. I don't think a lack of info is the problem. We got gangs of books, DVDs, and "intellectuals" who gave possible solutions. People just need to stop talking and start doing.

Its funny cuz until I watched this video it always slipped my min to read this book. Its as if I assumed everything Dr. Anderson was talking about, I knew about Sambo but its not like ain't think Uncle Tom was the same thing. Bu yeah, they got hella classic black literature on amazon for cheap I'm talking ever .1 cent not counting shipping costs. I've been meaing to buy a bunch of them like Souls of Black Folk, Writings of Marcus Garvey, etc but I figured I should finish all the books I've bought thus far.

I should have put looking for a reason. I've been contemplating trying my hand at teaching, Maybe educating young black children will provide that spark, that sense of brotherhood or i dunno man. Like i said i recognize im part of the problem, I'm trying to care tho

Problem is, that the 21st century has more race mixing in it than ever. Look at the 90s babies that look,and dress like white folk. Everything is strangely merging together, as in black culture and mainstream (white) culture. Post 2006 contemporary culture, we really don't even set the trends in mainstream like that anymore. No more "black" movies, no more rap albums, and even our clothing styles is becoming like them. Mind you all that shyt is negativity from back in the day.

And co-sign on feeling depressed sometimes because all we need to do is come together but we cant take our eyes off the bullshyt. I mean damn, there needs to be some fukkin cohesion where a nikka can enjoy shyt like Chief Keef, etc but still recognize what needs to be done when it comes to us as a people.
