That's the thing though.

Labels aren't promoting and marketing artists anymore. Those days are over. They're giving artists smaller budgets, and the artists themselves are the ones out there pushing their own music. That's why Billie Eilish just said that she's the one pushing her album now because Interscope isn't going to do it. These companies are trying to save money now. So if you have a name already, they want you to use it to get people to support the music. That's why so many of these artists are doing these social media campaigns now. It's really all they have today.

And the longer people go on using Spotify etc instead of actually purchasing music then this is the way it will stay.

Truth.

I remember when people said iTunes was gonna kill the industry because of the option to buy songs separately from albums. Now you don’t even have to do that anymore. People are listening to million of songs and albums for free on Spotify. Sh*t is crazy. At least with iTunes, you would still be able to sell songs and projects.

I slept a bit hard on this. Had I known the amount of Hip hop samples being flipped I mightve pressed play earlier but that's irrelevant. This shyt is incredible and it's a shame it got zero promo.

you are right and the album was pretty dope when I listened to it but I forgot about it until I just saw this thread. lol. I think a major issue is how they let people know they were doing an album and the shyt took years to drop. you cant have people waiting for shyt for years.

I was thinking about how dope this album was this morning then I see this thread lol. Yeah Dre definitely believes in doing things the old way when that doesn't work anymore. We're officially in the ADD era of music now.
