All these “Dre is just too much of a perfectionist” talk is bullshyt. MJ was probably the biggest perfectionist in music history. It was literally beat into him as a child to produce perfection

Dre just didn’t wanna get found out. If they ended up in the studio and Dre was by himself he would’ve had a pack of beats ready if MJ couldn’t catch a vibe he’d be like

MJ: pull out your music equipment and let’s try to create something from scratch I can’t vibe with any of the beats you’ve played so far:ehh:

Dre: ................:merchant:

Dre would say his friend Mel-man has his equipment and he'll be right on over.

No they don't. Prince himself turn down Mike :mjlol:
Just because they never had a public collaboration doesn’t mean they didn't collaborate
That wasn't his context. He said legends.

Plenty of legends don't work with each other.

You think J Cole would work with Madonna??
He worked with Janet

Also, if it wasn’t for Prince, Janet Jackson wouldn’t be the legend she is today. #iykyk

you're correct. I wasn't there and no one else was, but there are a lot of stories out there. Here is a direct quote from Fabian Duvernay who worked at Interscope at the time of the Chronic release

Then there was the infamous 2pac interview where he accused Dre of stealing beats from artists and that coincides with a Daz interview in which he states 2pac came to him talking about a beat Dre gave him (My mine made up) and then Pac getting pissed about it once finding out Daz produced it.

Dre is a legend, if he's stealing beats, it's sad to hear. I'm not there to confirm it, but with this many people accusing him of the same thing, you don't think there is some validity to it?
Where's that Fabian interview from?

The Come Up by Jonathan Abrams. It was hundreds of interviews about the history of hip hop from all regions. I'm not "hating on Dre". haha, this was an interview conducted. Daz, 2pac, and others have made the same claims. Mfers want to take 2pacs word on EVERYTHING except when he's referring to Dre stealing beats from Death Row producers. Then they want to question his authenticity.

At the end of the day..they wanted to work with him, and for a reason. He makes great music.
However he does it, overseas it, orchestrates it or whatever you want they certainly didn't think he was trash.
Everybody wanted a hot Dre beat at one point..Prince, Mj and them were clued in too. :mjlol:

Its important not to confuse Jimmy Jam and Terry with Prince.
Prince did push them to the spotlight with The Time, but he didn't create their talent, thats all them and its important they get their respect.
They damn near altered, along with Teddy, the 80s sonic landscape and I would say they are the most responsible for making Janet Jackson a superstar imo
