I like rj. Haven't checked for him in awhile. But he's really dope. If you looking for kind of catchy hooks and things like that. Heck he has very few hooks on his projects. You're not really gonna get that from him

Thing is, he reminds me of Los where he has these crazy freestyles, but that dopeness never really translates to dope albums. Even his songs sound like freestyles, lol.
A lot of the dudes who are more known for frees, have a hard time going over and being dope artists too. I like that Dre highlighted him, but he needs to mentor bro and get him in the studio for some work.

He has plenty of "songs" on a variety of topics and structures, going back some 20+ years from the beginning when he was Reign Man or later as Izzie Farreal. Even Kevin Liles praised him on his songwriting ability when he had the single deal at Def Jam early 2000s. They may not translate to something generic or catchy, because he's always gonna put bars first, but he can make them. At one point, he dropped like 3 positive/conscious projects that gained no traction. The irony is that he didn't really get acknowledgement and a huge following until he went back to straight spitting.
They are good at 1 very specific, unique thing. It's the equivalent of being amazing at shooting free throws but being unable to pass, dribble, or make any other type of shot.
