That Compton compilation bumped pretty hard man, I'm going to have to disagree Dre is still capable of making music that moves you. He really changed it up to fit the modern soundscape, if anything he should do more stuff.
It can't compare to his early work at all

This would be a valuable statement if he quit a long time ago. But when you're throwing out flops year after year and promising an album (detox) year after year then delivering a forgettable album, then he would still be considered as "doing shyt" rather he has to or not

i hear what you sayin' because i don't care for "compton" as an album outside of a few moments here and there but for all that dre's accomplished and his time in the game, he just havin' fun now. he been made his mark in the game, so even if some of us don't care for the "compton" soundtrack, it doesn't matter. dre's legacy been cemented. this is just dre havin' fun and doin' somethin' i feel like he needed to do for himself :yeshrug:

I don't see your point in saying this, nor do i buy the just having fun shyt. I'm pretty sure dre wanted to drop a project as good as he did in his prime. Otherwise he'd be dropping shyt alot more frequently if it was JUST FOR FUN. I already outlined dre's greatness in the opening post. I'm just stating that his run of producing great projects IS OVER.
Still my goat though

of course he wants to sell and all of that but i just mean he seems or must've been in a good space since he finally released the album. i think he found some inspiration and got inspired and also knew it would be a great look to tie this album in with the movie. that's cross promotion like a muthafukka right there

as far as his run of producin' great projects bein' over, ok cool. he been done enough in my opinion, he made his mark yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeears ago.

NO shyt, ALSO ADDRESSED IN MY OPENING POST also. But if you put out new work, then the new work shall be judged. I personally hoped he could do it one more time and i'm confident he hoped for it to. He failed though. Nice movie tie in,good hustle. But the music will be forgotten.

:ohhh: Am I the only person who finds it weird that despite Kendrick being signed to Aftermath, that neither of GKMC or TPAB albums have a Dr. Dre produced song?

It's a phenomenal album ...I agree that it doesn't have have the club bangers but it was dope all the way through,,.in comparison to the bs being passed off as hip hop now? I will take this all day...I think it's easily one of the best projects this yr no question about it....he explored new territory but there's also vintage Dre on here as well it's a great mixture of old and new
