Does cube count or the doc??
i was gonna say DOC. i don't think Cube was really under Dre's influence long enough to say he was a protege they both kind of came up at the same time and then Cube was gone after Eazy Duz It & Straight Outta Compton. DOC, stayed with Dre for a lot longer and probably learned a lot more from being in the studio writing all those rhymes for Snoop, Dre, etc throughout the years.

:what: people acting like Em was some sure shot back in 98? it was a HUGE risk to BUILD his new label on a white rapper. it just wasn't done back then.

Snoop without hesitation or question. Here's why.

Yes, Eminem has sold more but that's because he's a cac novelty. But Snoop has a real brand and persona and longevity that's just as iconic and more flexible than anyone in Hip Hop. If you really think about it, in terms of adaptability Snoop is the GOAT out of every single MC in the game.....and probably will be for all time. He may not have the numbers but he has the longevity, likeability and consistency (with the exception of Snoop Lion, which btw he's entitled to do/be) with his entire career and has had very little missteps. He's his own personal brand unto himself and does what he feels.

This really doesn't have anything to do with Dre, but since Dre introduced him then he gets the credit for putting him on and bringing him out.

just look at the effortless transitions over two decades.

nobody does it like uncle snoop. i don't feel like he gets enough credit or GOAT mentions either.

is Snoop really in anyone's GOAT contention?
