at Dre trying to compete. First, Dre isn't an artist. If Dre really was about competing. We'd probably have an album every year. He could easily drop an album with Eminem or Kendrick on every song and go platinum. He had a huge single, Grammy performance, and a Grammy nomination and STILL didn't drop an album.

What's crazy is Dre must have over 100 Songs done since he was working on "Detox" for 14 years. Dr. Dre's Vault is probably LEGENDARY. Seriously.

IMO, I always said to somebody that I think The Game vs 50 Cent beef when they were so popular at the time, ruined Detox chance if you think about it. You have Shady/Aftermath/G-Unit/BlackWallStreet era running the hip-hop shyt. I think Dre wanted to drop in that time but the beef shyt just ruined it.
After that I think it's might be okay until I read D.O.C. interview in 07 or something about will Dre drop Detox and D.O.C. said, "I don't think Dre will drop Detox, never will, the way hip-hop is changed now so what the hell he's going to talk about, etc." He made a lot of good points why Dre won't drop Detox so that's what I started to believe that Detox will never be dropped..
Now, every years, hip-hop is getting worse and worse so he has no confidence anymore just like Andre 3000 doesn't want to drop another Outkast because he knows that hip-hop isn't the same anymore.
50 Cent doesn't sell anymore, Eminem still sell but Eminem isn't the old Eminem, some people find his voice is to be annoying now. The Game is imitating every rappers when he's on the track with them, that threw some people off.
Mel-Man isn't with him anymore.
This album wouldn't be the same without Nate Dogg
The Game vs 50 Cent beef ruined the Detox chance, period.
