I definitely don't want to give the vibe that he's anything special. If it were up to me I'd have a panel of doctors speaking about it and giving updates based on their specific areas of expertise instead of just one man with his team just kind of in the background. Covid 19 is a problem that can only be solved with the collaboration of different people. Govt giving money to hospitals to hire more staff, policy makers giving financial incentives to people who get vaccinated. The media not whipping people into a frenzy by posting stories and data that isn't verified and hospital staff putting in work and getting overtime pay theyve earned.
The media is trying to make him specifically into a hero or villain but there are a lot of moving parts to the covid response that go beyond him. A states numbers will be higher if the people in charge aren't supporting the medical staff, putting in good contact tracing methods, and supporting businesses who refuse to serve people who can't prove they've been vaccinated and don't want to take precautions in the store while everyone else is following the rules. I'm mad as hell if I'm in the grocery store and a mf without a mask is standing too close to the line and coughing and sneezing without covering his mouth. I feel no sympathy when those people get hands put on them for getting belligerent when people politely ask them to be considerate.
