That's probably a lack of cardio, bad food choices, etc.

Sit-ups don't make your abs pop really, just gives you a stronger core but it's the diet that does it. Sit-ups with a shytty diet will actually make it look like you got a gut. Probably cut back on the carbs, carbonated drinks, alcohol

You hit the nail on the head. My entire family is skinny and tall...there are a few fatties but that's due to general laziness and lack of exercise.
My problem is...I can't stay away from bread and coffee.
Its my weakness.
I know that if I ate right I'd be ripped and more lean, but I'm ok with my gut for now. I still see the musculature if I flex, but when I let it out it gets round again. My core is very strong though. I hike/ruck-march 1-2 times a week with the soldiers and a 50# ruck.
I eat right except for my coffee and bread proclivities.
