He speaks of the failure of identity politics and how identity politics gets in the way for historical facts when it comes to making theory.
Tommy Curry stats that morality gets corrupts theory because morality makes certain assumptions and presume certain truths of the world.
So a lot of Black studies isn't historical or factual...it is just a bunch of academics defending their identity and promoting morality

These students are terrible. Didn't read the assignment to even have the fukking lecture.
Then on top of that, talking about having emperical evidence to back an assertion is "problematic" or "dangerous"

That guy mentioned Arthur Ashe. And what few people know these day is that Arthur Ashe was a true to goodness Black man.
I am looking for an interview that Ashe did back in the 80's or 90's were a reporter asked him something about being Black and Ashe responded with something along the lines of:
"He didn't mind being Black; he was just annoyed at having to defend why he was a Black man to White people."
It was something like that. It was simply brilliant. I miss intelligent athletes like Arthur Ashe.
Link didn't work, but yeah that's the book. I borrowed it from the library but I'm only about 60 pages in so far. Definitely saying things that don't get expressed publicly about how there are some black people who are fukking up the cause.
