drag a black man tryna do something positive name into the dirt through gossip and speculation brehs

I do agree that he should start small tho
$4 Million for a school IS small.

Stop thinking with your pocketbook.

It obviously isn't a good frame of reference for you to think about these things.

Still not sure why needs a physical building in this internet age. Wouldn't it be better and easier to teach kids online instead?
This is actually the future of education. He is hustling backwards running behind a brick and mortar institution.

Your a fraud because you think big? :what:
If you actually read some posts, it's not that black and white. But I know there's no middle ground here on TheColi so I'm not surprised by your comment.

I don't really follow this dude, but if you do and/or have donated, tell him the future of education is online. You hear about many schools maybe adding on to their current brick and mortar schools but how many new ones are being built? There is a reason for that. Out here slimming down the courses and majors offered. They're getting ready for that big squeeze. It's coming.

The target children he's interested in educating aren't disciplined enough for online education, too many distractions.
:ohhh:.............OK well what about having them take the online courses in a place of his choice? They could actually come to a building with computers and do their work their. It's convenient. Folks don't have to spring for a computer and internet connection at home and he can still cut down on costs.

He plans to have his students learn martial arts, take cooking classes and other arts that require their physical presence.

This is how he describes himself on his website:
  • Dr. Umar Johnson, The Prince of Pan-Africanism
  • Dr. Umar Johnson, The blood of Frederick Douglass
  • Dr. Umar Johnson, The spirit of Marcus Garvey
So he clearly has a big ego which makes it more likely that he's motivated by self-serving interests. Plus, the design of his site and the lack of specifics about how the raised money will be spent scream unprofessionalism. Plus, he raised money for a school before and has nothing to show for it so either he pocketed the money or he's incapable of doing the things he wants to do.

EXACTLY. I came in here to say this. He says things that I believe to be true, but he's suspect based on me seeing these descriptions on his website.
