It's hard to gauge whether this was a hustle all along or if he started with good intentions and quickly found himself over his head with things. I would say it probably is closer to being a grift, as there were several contractors looking to do pro bono work for those trap houses he calls schools and Umar would give them the runaround.
On the other hand, I definitely think he's just got a poor mind for business/administrative work in general. He's got multiple personal evictions, those building are tens of thousands in arrears, he's facing another couple court judgements... it's a complete mess. Ironically, if he settled down and married a sista, she could've at least helped with some of the administrative tasks if this was on the up and up. The only thing I see that Umar wants to do is have sex with black single mothers and get personal donations with zero oversight of how the $$$ is utilized.
If he was really concerned about educating young black boys, he would've done an online school. Start small. If he needed capital, he's definitely entertaining - why not start a personal Youtube page/TikTok? He'd be clocking tens of thousands of dollars a month in revenue IMO
