But people now identify with their digital avatar more than their flesh and blood self.
They create a character, embellish things, take all their pics from deceptive angles, pick and only the very coolest moments to share so that the avatar seems to be always winning and having a ball while doing it.
So for these types Umar's entire identity IS his social media. Without that, he's some rumor or ghost.
