Dragon Age's Creative Director Matt Goldman Has Left BioWare

This is the second creative director that's left this project. It's in the third version of the game. The original was a normal single player the second was a multiplayer live service game and now it's back to a single player game with no multi. Given their last game was Anthem this is probably DOA.

So many of these games are created to churn money and if they happen to entertain you, great, but if not, oh well. These long time devs leaving because they are probably bumping up against that pressure to add features that don't make sense just to squeeze a few extra bucks. Hopefully it will change at some point but I'm not holding my breath.

BioWare destroyed BioWare, EA just ate the body
No EA did this. They influenced the direction the studio took and now that it's failing on their desired path EA will probably shut them down. The very definition of incompetent leadership.

EA bought a studio that excelled at making games they aren't really interested in publishing. They then tried to change the studio into a live service machine and almost anybody who was key in the rise is now gone. The name remains but it's like Rare or Infinity Ward, studio in name only.

I honestly can't even blame EA. For as fukked up as Anthem was through production, EA was responsible for making flight an integral part of the game - which was probably the best and most complete feature of the entire setup.

Forcing devs to use Frostbite was definitely some shyt. But I think Bioware's been trying to make games that are simply too ambitious for a long time now.
