If you haven't watched the classic Yu Yu Hakusho, do it. It came out around the time DB did and they were pretty much rival shows.

I stopped following Yu Yu after that Dark Tournament ( 
), but if there's one thing I always respected about that series, it's that every member of the squad got their shine. It wasn't like DBZ where pretty much everybody who wasn't Goku or Vegeta ultimately wound up getting the

You should continue to be honest. The arc that followed after the Dark Tournament, the Chapter Black arc, is the best arc of the series. Togashi hit his fukking stride that season. You can also see the influences on Hunter x Hunter by this point.
