Dragonball GT unappreciation thread

They should just turn the whole dragon ball series over to new animation direction and call it a reboot. I swear these mangas dont get re writes like american comics, super man has died been brought to life and gotten beaten by batman. Dont none of that make sense in the original story lines perspective. Let some other animators get to this and i swear it would breathe life, and prolly logic back into the story

Cosign 100%. even the movie [yes jplaya its not canon WE KNOW YOU NERD] with Meta-Cooler, the way he showed up, bailed out goku like twice, straight up on the stregnth that he is a saiyan and thats it, and DIPPED as soon as the fight was over was gully as fukk.

I don't think I've ever come across anybody who liked it. I even remember showing them to my nephews (who were all under 10 at the time) when they first started dropping on DVD and even they hated it.

Dragonball started off as a comedic series until around King Piccolo where there was more of an emphasis on action, at which point the series' best moments were watching strong dudes beat the shyt out of each other and create huge explosions. The plot was cliche and paper thin and the characters were one note and barely had any development. That has been the case since the first chapter/episode. As a kid watching cartoons and reading comics that were pretty tame I thought DBZ was the most amazing thing ever, but there were and are better alternatives.

GT was complete ass though. It had everything bad about the Dragonball series with none of the redeeming qualities. It's like they didn't know if they wanted to make a throwback series or something completely different.

Japanese Manga and American Comjcs are two different mediums which run off differing principles. Usually in American Comics there's a designated writer and a designated designer. In Manga the Creator generally is the writer and designer. Akira Toriyama is the creator of dragonball, PERIOD. We already saw what happened when "some other" animators and story writers got to Dragonball, and it produced the abortion known as GT. If it's not Toriyama then it's simply not Dragonball

The problem been that toriyama hated what made the show great (all the fighting and violence) and he been tryin to insert his cutesy shyt

I'd the Buu Saga should be thrown in the bushes too. That's where shyt started to get mad redundant. They should have stuck with the original idea of focusing on the new generation (Gohan, Trunks, Goten, Videl, and Dende) with Piccolo, Vegeta, and Goku in mentorship roles.

Dog, the power levels were so inconsistent, piccolo was suppose to be ssj status when he fought 17

Think about it, 17 whooped on all the super sayians but piccolo was able to go toe to toe, and match strength with him, but only to buy time till one of the sayian characters arived.

Dude should be atleast on vegeta's level after kami and him joined together.


Making everyone yhat wasnt sayian, irrelevant was the worst decision ever.

How come tien and krillin maxed out so soon?

When Piccolo fused with Kami to become the "Super Namek" he was stronger than any other Z fighter at the time, stronger than Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan, his power level was greater than a SSJ1. He had Vegeta shook!!!, and was on par the Androids, the reason why Imperfect Cell , messed him up was because he had just been in a fight with 17 and used energy whilst Cell had been jucing. However he(Piccolo) wasn't at the level of an ascended super saiyan until he goes into the hyperbolic time chamber. He would have murked semi-perfect Cell at that power level, however not Perfect form Cell.

Yeah Piccolo was supposed to be stronger than a SSJ when he fused with Kami and that was his last significant power up. They fukked up by leaving piccolo in the dust. They should have never let it turn into the Super Saiyan show.

I think Tien should have received better upgrades too.

It seemed like they were going to let the human fighters progress along with everybody else because they showed them curb stomping the Ginyu Force in the afterlife, yet even with extra training once the androids showed up they were obsolete.
